When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in 2012/2013 because I liked fighting and wrestling since I was a kid. I also started to lose weight and learn how to defend myself.
What professional titles have you held? Lux Fight League Bantamweight Champion
Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? Champion in jiu-jitsu, grappling, and kickboxing tournaments
Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines? Brown Belt in BJJ
What has been your toughest fight to date and why? My third professional fight against a Brazilian. After the first round, I felt exhausted, like I couldn’t move my legs anymore. The guy was tough, but I still went out and fought through all three rounds. It was hard because I lacked experience, and that fight ended in a draw.
Who is your favorite fighter and why? Jon Jones, because when he fights, he does real MMA. He dominates in striking, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, I went, but I didn’t finish because I dedicated myself 100-percent to fighting.
What was your job before you started fighting? While I was studying, I had many part-time jobs: construction assistant, painting, kitchen work, waiter, kitchen helper, bartender, security guard — all to be able to keep training.
Origin of nickname: “Pegajoso” comes from the chubby ghost in Ghostbusters. The name stuck because I was also chubby when I started training, and I was good at jiu-jitsu, so they gave me that nickname.
Who are 3 people you'd love to meet or work with? I’d like to meet Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Jason Statham.
What are your hobbies, activities or other interests when not training for a fight? I love eating and cooking, discovering new restaurants and cafes, going to the movies, running, swimming, and going to the forest or beach.
